Max served in the following Units:
Number 2 and 3 Aircraft Depots working on the following aircraft:
Lincolns, Austers, Meteors, Vampires and Neptunes.
486 Squadron - Hercules C130 Transport a/c
16 Army Light Aircraft Squadron - Cessnas and Sioux helicopters
Number 5 and 9 Hellicopter Squardons - Bell Iroquois
34 VIP Squadron - BAC 111 and HS 748
Number 12 Helicopter Squadron - Chinook aircraft

From March 1968 to March 1969 he served in
Vietnam with No. 9
Helicopter Squandron.

From August 1970 to November 1972 he served with the Search and
Rescue Flight at Butterworth which flew Iroquois Helicopters. .

In 1980 Max joined the Active Reserves 23 City of Brisbane Suadron
and served until his discharge in 1987.

Max also served as an Instructor in the Air Training Corp from 1980 to
1992 until he reached the maximum age of 60.
