Thomas Quinn was born about 1858 at James Park near Cowra according to details he gives
at the time of his marriage in 1876. His parents were Thomas Quinn [senior] and Catherine
Ann/Annie Hall was born about 1858 at sea, daughter of John Hall [a stockman] and Ann
Hall, according to details she gives at the time of her marriage in 1876 and her baptism to the
Catholic faith in 1879. Thomas Quinn would later give her birthplace as Stepney England
when registering the births of their children and at the time of her death. He would also state
she was only 16 at the time of their marriage. Despite much searching, none of this
information has turned up any leads to her identity. So who was she? Some recent
discoveries suggest she was Anne hall born 22nd November 1858 at Durham Farm,
Braidwood, daughter of John Hall and Ann Allen. A full explanation of this theory is
Marriage: Thomas Quinn aged 18, a labourer born James Park married Annie Hall aged 18,
born 'on the ocean' on 16th December 1876 at The Battery, by Rev James Adams according to
the rites of the Presbyterian Church. Thomas' residence was Battery [probably Battery Creek]
and Annie's was Wattamadeira probably Wattamondara. In the 1840's Wattamondara
(originally known as Wattamdara) was a 23,000 acre station which went on to become one of
the busiest stations on the Cowra-Harden railway line.
Thomas Patrick Quinn born 29th January 1877 - about 6 weeks after his parents marriage.

December 1920 Queensland ref 000193/1921. "Katherine" Staunton died 1st August 1953 at
Windsor. Sydney Morning Herald dated 6th August 1953 reports she was the dearly loved
daughter of the late Thomas Quinn of Cowra. Her late residence was Box Hill. She was aged
87 and interred in the Catholic Cemetery Botany.

Annie Quinn nee Hall died on 21st October 1889 at Cowra. She was 29 years of age according
to her death certificate. Cause of death was placenta previa haemorrhage following the birth of
baby Emily. She was buried at Cowra on 22nd October 1889.
Thomas Quinn died on 23rd September 1933 at 95 Greens Road Paddington NSW. He was a
carter aged 75. Son Thomas Patrick Quinn was the informant. He is buried at the Roman
Catholic Botany Cemetery [now the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park] Headstone photo below.
