Irish Immigrants
in the
Maitland Area of NSW
In the course of my research into my Higgins and Maher families I have also researched several
side branches and families with the same or similar surnames who all settled in the Maitland
area.  Most of these families intermarried with other Irish families also living in the area and I
suspect several were related back in Ireland although I have been unable to confirm this. I
decided to share what I have found in the hope it may be useful to other researchers.
